On Thursday June 27th, Tartu Rahvaülikooli segakoor, conducted by Lauri Breede, performed for audiences in Toronto at St. Peter's Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church.
With educational introductions to the songs provided by the conductor, the concert repertoire spanned works from Miina Härma and Gustav Ernesaks to Veljo Tormis and Jaan Tätte. And in the end, just as at Laulupidu, the concert concluded with everyone singing along to “Mu isamaa on minu arm.”
