Gallery: The 25th Scandinavian Film Festival L.A.

The 25th anniversary edition of the Scandinavian Film Festival LA (SFFLA) opened on Saturday January 13th at the Writer's Guild Theater in Beverly Hills, California.

The film festival, which runs at the Writer's Guild Theater (135 South Doheny Drive, Beverly Hills) from January 13th to 21st, 2024 , included an Estonian film on its opening day — Smoke Sauna Sisterhood, directed by Anna Hints. This film has won the Best Documentary award at the European Film Awards (2023) and the directing award in the World Cinema Documentary section at Sundance Film Festival (2023), among several others.

As confirmed by festival director James Koenig, students with student photo ID can attend for free. This is great deal as, otherwise, tickets cost USD $15 per film.

All in all, the festival is screening a great set of Scandinavian and Baltic films to see in-person this year—you won't want to miss it!
