Ingrid Tein, to head International Child Neurology Association

During the recent International Child Neurology Congress in Brisbane, May 2012, Dr. Ingrid Tein, of Estonian heritage and Toronto, was elected
President-Elect of the International Child Neurology Association (ICNA) for 2012-2014 and will assume Presidency of ICNA from 2014-2018.

ICNA was founded in 1973 by Dr. John Stobo Prichard (Canada) and Dr. Sabine Pelc (Belgium) and is an international organization of highly respected child neurologists whose mandate is the promotion of excellence in clinical care, education and research in Child Neurology throughout the world.

ICNA currently has members in over 75 countries covering the six major geographic regions and organizes highly rated International Child Neurology Congresses every two years covering the latest advances in Child Neurology clinical care and research with an innovative educational program;
organizes multiple educational meetings annually in the six geographic regions and facilitates the development of regional Child Neurology Societies such as the African Child Neurology Association in 2010. The next educational and board meeting will be held in Kaunas, Lithuania in May 2013 in collaboration with the 12th Conference of the Baltic Child Neurology Association. ICNA publishes a state-of-the art series of Child Neurology Books in subspecialty areas on an annual basis and facilitates international research collaborations between developed and resource-poor countries and promotes evidence-based studies of rare neurological diseases. It also maintains an electronic web-based Child Neurology Knowledge Environment for the publication of research breakthroughs, best clinical care standards, guidelines, research collaborations and special interest groups, e-lectures, clinical videos, podcases, neuroimages, events calender, journal watch, etc. on ICNApedia which is now available in 50+ languages.
