Lauren Larouche Makes Estonians Proud at the World Equestrian Center

Lauren Larouche, 22, from Mississauga, Ontario, has been training for many years as an Equestrian, all while completing her University education (BA in Psychology from Laurentian University) and working full time at the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, in Oakville.

Lauren competed recently in Ohio, USA, at the World Equestrian Center, Winter Classic #14, March 11-15 2025.

She won 3 ribbons: 4th place in the Modified Equitation Flat, 5th place in the HJAM Modified Junior/Adult Medal, and placed 11th in this worldwide competition at her last event on Saturday in the 2′ 6″ hunter jumper with her horse “On the Double”. They have both come a long way, in their training and competing in Equestrian events throughout Ontario over the past few years.

Her grandparents (deceased), Tiiu Abe (born in Tartu) and Hubert Abe (born in Pärnu), and great grandparents, Olga & Andrei Abe (born in Muhu) and Arnold & Selma Laansoo (born in Pärnu), were proudly smiling down on her from heaven.

Lauren is a representative of the Estonian championship work ethic, values and beliefs. Her kind character, intelligence, hard work and dedication comes directly from her Estonian heritage.

Both Lauren and her mother just recently received their Estonian citizenship and hope to visit and represent the land of their forefathers in the future.
