Marcus Kolga’s Workshop in Vancouver

On December 8th at Meie Kodu, members of the Vancouver Estonian, Ukrainian, Polish, Latvian and Lithuanian community came to hear Marcus Kolga lead a workshop on disinformation and how to identify Russian propaganda and false narratives that have especially shown up in Canadian social media since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

VP of Vancouver Estonian Society and Estonian Central Council in Canada executive member Ingrid Soide welcomed and thanked everyone including each of the leaders of the communities for attending and introduced newly elected President of the Ukrainian Congress of Canada BC, Iryna Shyroka – Iryna reiterated gratitude towards the Baltic and Polish communities for all of their continued support for Ukraine and for Ukrainians. Both Ingrid and Iryna thanked Marcus for all of his continued efforts for democracy and Ukraine on behalf of all of the communities.

The workshop was extremely informative and the opportunity to have Marcus to speak in person in Vancouver was very valued by the communities and concluded with great discussions. A welcoming committee provided hot mulled wine and baked treats in which $600 in cash donations were collected for Ukrainian humanitarian aid.
