Mayor Rob Ford is exonerated by Divisional Court

Mayor Rob Ford is found not guilty by the Ontario Divisional Court of conflict of interest law, on Friday, January 25, 2013. Ford will be able to complete his term - he hopes two terms.

Ford was convicted by Justice Charles Hackland for conflict of interest charges for voting in an issue involving himself. Ford hired a top rated lawyer Alan Lenczner to defend his case in higher court and sweated the outcome.

The issue came over Ford sending out requests for funds ($3,150) on his official city letterhead, which one is not allowed to do. After repeated requests the issue was taken to City Council. There, after repeated warnings Ford voted on the issue in City Council. Wrong so it seemed.
