If you like fixing things and solving problems, Tartu College is looking to hire a Maintenance Associate who possesses entry-level skills in carpentry, drywalling, plastering, painting, basic plumbing repairs, and general maintenance. This full-time position involves repairing and maintaining student residence suites and other areas within the building. The role requires physical activities such as snow removal and heavy lifting. The ideal candidate should be motivated, able to handle these tasks and enjoy solving problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct ongoing repairs and upgrades in student residence suites, including kitchens, washrooms, and bedrooms.
  • Perform carpentry, dry walling, plastering, painting, basic plumbing repairs, and other maintenance-related tasks.
  • Engage in physically demanding activities such as snow removal and heavy lifting.
  • Assist in maintenance activities in various areas of Tartu College, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Building Manager to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient completion.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-year experience in building maintenance or construction
  • Entry-level skills in carpentry, dry walling, plastering, painting, basic plumbing repairs, and general maintenance.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Working Hours: 40 hours per week

Compensation: starting hourly range $24-26 per hour, based on personal skill set

Benefits: standard vacation, 6 sick days, and 2 personal days, Extended Health Benefits Plan after a 90-day trial period.

Supervision: The Maintenance Associate will report to the Assistant Building Manager, following established work agendas and priorities.
