Pillerkaar performed at the Christmas Village at Baltimore Inner Harbor on 12-6-2014

Pillerkaar performed eight traditional Estonian dances at the Christmas Village and then invited the audience to dance some genuine Estonian folk dances with people passing through the market. Anu Oinas led Pillerkaar with the dances and the following performers participated: Age Landra Robinson, Andrus Kiik, Angel Luna, Jyri Erik Kork, Kadri Kallas-Zelek, Kati Kuld, Kelsey Biggs Kiik, Laila Oinas, Mauno Kork, and Priit Vesilind.

The Christmas Village in Baltimore is modeled after traditional German Christmas Markets. The most famous of which, is the Christkindlmarket in Nuremberg, Germany. The goods presented in timber booths include a rich variety of food and holiday items. At the market, you will find Christmas ornaments, arts and crafts, toys, sweets, and hot food and drinks. This is an event at which people can stroll around, meet friends, and enjoy live performances of Christmas music and dance. It runs from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve.

In its first season in 2103, over 150,000 people enjoyed the Christmas market with it's unique vendors, extensive stage- and event program, and great decoration of Christmas trees and thousands of twinkling lights, which surely import the authentic German Christmas charm to Baltimore!

The outdoor area brings the original Christmas Village charm with its traditional German style wooden huts to Baltimore. In addition, a heated festival tent will created a Christmassy shopping atmosphere with more vendors, a food court, and an event space. The delicious smell of waffles, gingerbread, bratwurst and mulled wine brings you and your family into the perfect Christmas mood.
