Estonian Charitable Organizations
Following Peter's presentation, representatives from local Estonian charities spoke about what work they do, what their mandates are, and how you can help them. The speakers and the organizations represented were: Einar Medri, Estonian Relief Committee in Canada/Ehatare; Enno Agur, Estonian Scouts & Guides in Canada; Eva Varangu, Estonian Foundation of Canada; Mari Ann Tammark, Estonian Ecumenical Relief Organization (EERO); and, Peeter Einola representing University of Tartu Fond, Chair of Estonian Studies Foundation, and Estonian Studies Centre.
Each representative explained what work their organization does to support the local community or a community in Estonia. From gathering money for medical equipment, to organizing events for youth throughout Canada, to helping the elderly live out their final years in comfort, to funding education and activity, these organizations truly exude the values of our entire community: support, co-operation and strength.
