Zumba on Zoom with Julia DeSotto

To many Estonians in Toronto, Julia DeSotto is known as a brilliant actress, especially thanks to the play “I Remember Mama” written, directed and played by her, which we have been able to see at Tartu College and on other stages in Toronto, and even in Estonia in 2014.

This time, however, we present Julia as a fitness trainer who will hold a Zumba class on Zoom on March 1 as part of the VEMU Year of Movement program.

Julia has been in the fitness business for 41 years. She received her fitness certification through the Ontario Fitness Council and the National Fitness Alliance Council. She was working as a group fitness leader for the Seniors division at the Toronto District School Board for 25 years and actively teaching various Seniors classes with chairs, stretch bands and weights.

Julia has certification in Pilates, chair Pilates, Aqua fitness and Zumba, especially Zumba Gold which is specifically designed for middle-aged and older active adults. It is her favourite because it’s so much fun with exciting music to easy dances from all over the world. Julia says: “My emphasis in class is on strength, balance and coordination; a class that is fun, easy and guaranteed to make you feel wonderful!”

Julia DeSotto’s 60-minute Zumba class will take place March 1st on Zoom (https://us06web.zoom.u-s-/j/-85985441943 ; meeting ID 859 8544 1943):

Participants will gather at 7:00 pm and the class will start at 7:15 pm (in English).

All interested parties are welcome, especially women and men aged 55+. Put on comfortable sports clothes, save yourself some dance space, bring a chair, 1–3 lb weights, and a stretch band.
