In honor of his “Extraordinary Contributions of Artistic and Cultural Significance,” Marju Rink-Abel, EANC president, presented Arvo Pärt with a Lifetime Achievement Award at a special post-Carnegie Hall concert reception on May 31, 2014.
The reception, which was hosted by the Estonian government and The Honorable Urve Tiidus, Estonian Minister of Culture, followed a triumphant sold-out concert at Carnegie Hall, New York. Part of the Arvo Pärt Project developed by together with Maestro Pärt and his wife Nora, the performance was executed by the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, with Tõnu Kaljuste, founder of both the choir and orchestra, conducting.
