Recipe
- two to three chicken breasts
- one bell pepper, sliced
- half an onion, diced
- 3/4 cup honey
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- two teaspoons sesame oil
- three to four garlic cloves, diced
- three teaspoons of corn starch
- three tablespoons of water
- as much noodles/pasta as desired
Method of preparation
- Cut two to three chicken breasts. Slice one bell pepper. Dice half of an onion and the garlic cloves.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the 3/4 cup of honey, the 1/2 cup of soy sauce, a 1/4 cup of ketchup, two teaspoons of sesame oil, and the diced garlic cloves.
- In the crock pot, combine the cut chicken, sliced bell pepper, and diced onion. Pour the prepared sauce over these ingredients.
- Cook the mixture on high for four hours or on low for five to six hours.
- Approximately thirty minutes before the end of the cooking time, thicken the sauce by mixing in three teaspoons of corn starch with the three tablespoons of water in a small bowl to create a slurry. Stir this slurry into the sauce in the crock pot.
- While the chicken finishes cooking, boil noodles or pasta according to package directions.
- Just before serving, add the cooked noodles directly into the crock pot and stir to combine with the sauce.
