You can save a Ukrainian soldier’s life!

#SaveUkrainianSoldier

On December 13th, at the Toronto Estonian Christmas Market “Rahvajõulupuu“, the Estonian Central Council in Canada (EKN/ECC), together with the Latvian National Federation in Canada (LNFC) launched a fundraising initiative to supply tourniquets for Ukrainian soldiers wounded at the front.

EKN/ECC thanks all Estonian Canadians who have already contributed to this lifesaving cause!

We also thank EKN/ECC Advisory Council member Rob Zeidler for his commitment and longtime support of Ukrainian soldiers. Rob travels regularly to Ukraine and was instrumental in organizing and coordinating this important fundraiser. The tourniquets are manufactured in Ukraine and shipped to the front so that wounded soldiers have immediate access to this life saving equipment.

Vitaliy Kubatskyy of Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church in New Westminster B.C. purchased 200 tourniquets from the Estonian community donations (Toronto Estonian Christmas Market, Hamilton Estonian church etc.), which were received by medics in Ukraine.

The accompanying photos are from Odesa, Ukraine, volunteer base. Sergiy Bukovsky, who serves in the air defence unit in Odesa prepares medical kits in his free time. He can be seen packing the tourniquets and other supplies purchased with Estonian Canadian community funds.

A full report can be found here.

EKN/ECC will be rolling this initiative out across Canada over the next couple of months, through its member organizations.

There are different ways to donate:

OPTION 1: Donate $20 per tourniquet or more

OPTION 2: Donate $20 per tourniquet or more monthly

Donations can be sent directly to the Ukrainian Holy Eucharist Cathedral
