On Saturday, 12 September, at the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) 2026 in Seoul, Korea, Professor Carl Martin Tammemägi received the “Joseph W. Cullen Prevention/Early Detection Award”. The Joseph W. Cullen Prevention/Early Detection Award recognizes an IASLC scientist for a lifetime achievement in the prevention of thoracic malignancies. IASLC is the largest lung cancer organization in the world and with approximately 8000 participants attending, the WCLC 2026, it is the largest lung cancer meeting in the world. Dr Tammemägi could not attend the ceremony in person but did accept the honour virtually.
