After her retirement from active duty, Ms. Shuey obtained her second Master's degree in Counseling Psychology; most recently she has conducted therapy for active duty military and veterans dealing with service-related challenges.
With the addition of this position focusing on EANC's political objectives, the organization will be able to intensify its work to counteract Russia's aggressive actions, misinformation, and anti-Estonian propaganda. Funding for the position comes from individual donations, and EANC thanks its contributors for their generous support.
The Estonian American National Council, founded in 1952, is the central organization representing all Estonian Americans. Its focus is two-fold: preserving the Estonian language and heritage in the United States, and with other like-minded organizations, working to ensure that U.S. policy and actions take into consideration issues of importance to Estonian Americans.
