New season, new way of reading Eesti Elu

Eesti Elu logo

In our mission to continue serving the global Estonian community, we wanted to provide something that will make your reading experience even better. In a time when you often receive less and less for your money, we wanted to give more value to subscribers like you, who keep our publication alive.

Next week, Eesti Elu is launching a web site that will make it an even more convenient and abundant resource for you. A “one stop Esto shop” as we like to call it!

Now, instead of the PDF version of the newspaper on Issuu, you'll simply go to eestielu.ca to access all our news and stories digitally. You will have digital access to all the articles from the newspaper in one place, plus much more.

On the new website, stories will be published throughout the week, so there’s always something fresh for you to read. The editorial team has forged relationships with subject matter experts to bring a number of brand new columns about business, family life, health, education, Estonian history, and starting a new life in Canada and Estonia that you will get exclusively, only through a subscription to Eesti Elu.

In addition to news and articles, you will get access to a:

  • calendar of Estonian events/sündmused in your neighbourhood and around the world
  • business directory/ärikataloog that lists all of the businesses and professionals within the Estonian community
  • classified ads/kuulutused section that allows you to buy, sell, and trade goods, as well as seek out a helping hand for your next talgud
  • database of countless Estonian organizations/organisatsioonid from around the world

The website itself is easier to use than ever, with a sleek, modern layout that makes it easy to find exactly what you’re looking for.

Readers can view the website in Estonian or English, with a mixture of articles in both languages.

You can take in our stories on-the-go or when driving: each article has a “Listen” button to hear the article read to you in Estonian or English.

As a community hub, we encourage everyone to submit their Estonian-related content to us. You can send your own articles to our editorial team by clicking the “Send an article” button on the news/uudised page.

All of this becomes accessible to you with your existing digital or print subscription, for the same price.

If you have been reading the digital Eesti Elu already, we will send you your new log-in details via email.

If you are a print reader and would like to register for your complimentary digital access, email us at digitaleditor@eestielu.ca.

There’s always dust when you renovate – we want to hear your feedback as you start using the new site so we can keep improving how we serve our community.
