PACIFIC OCEAN PROVIDES BACKDROP FOR GOLF TOURNAMENT ORGANIZED BY THE WORLD ESTONIAN FESTIVAL, LEP-ESTO 2013

Half Moon Bay Golf Links, another captivating festival venue, called "one of the best 18 holes in the country" by Golf Digest Magazine.

The lively array of events constituting LEP-ESTO 2013 kicks off on Thursday, June 27, 2013 with a golf tournament at one of North America's most prestigious golfing destinations: the Half Moon Bay Golf Links, located on the San Mateo coast 30 miles south of San Francisco.

Situated on bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the property has two championship golf courses and the regal Ritz Carlton Resort. For golfing enthusiasts attending LEP-ESTO 2013, in San Francisco, June 28 through July 2, 2013, this event cannot be missed!

Director of the event and Treasurer of the Half Moon Bay men's Golf Club, Estonian golfer Jaan Palm-Leis states, “We will play the Old Course at the Half Moon Bay Golf Links. This is the chance to make new friends while golfing one of the best public courses in America.” The Old Course was designed by legendary golf course architects Arnold Palmer and Francis Duane, and is noted for its challenging design and majestic Northern Californian setting among Cypress, Monterey Pine and New Zealand Christmas trees.

The tournament will follow a shotgun start format, with foursome starts at the same time, on different holes. The entire field will finish the round at the same time. The event starts at 12:30 p.m. should take approximately 4-4 1/2 hours, ending before 5:00 p.m. Cost is $110 per player and includes green fee, golf cart, valet parking and taxes. Equipment rental is available on-site.

The World Estonian Festival, ESTO joins with Lääneraniku Eesti Päevad (LEP), the West Coast Estonian Festival, for LEP-ESTO 2013, the first-ever uniting of the gatherings. LEP-ESTO 2013 officially opens on Friday, June 28th at the EXPO and Opening Gala at San Francisco's Palace of Fine Arts. The opening ceremony will be followed by performances by the Estonian National Ballet and other top Estonian artists. Four days of eclectic events celebrating Estonian Culture and Community will include an important technology business conference “iEstonia” in the Silicon Valley, a film festival premiering the latest work by Jim and Maureen Tusty (Directors of “The Singing Revolution”), the traditional Laulupidu song festival and a range of cultural-related seminars.
