The Grand Parade for Ehatare seniors did not just take place at Ehatare

Ehatare residents past and present are being honored from all over the world by people who could not join us in person but are still supporting Ehatare from afar.

There were walkers in Malito and Milan Italy, Germany, the Grand Canyon, USA, Tallinn, Estonia and from the Canadian capital of the Yukon, Whitehorse, all walking the 2.5 kilometers in September.

Evi Watt, whose mother is at Ehatare and lives in Whitehorse reported, “There were 11 of us from the Yukon Elderactive Society, it was a difficult hike up to the high alpine but worth every step. Elders hiking for elders. It was the appropriate place to carry this banner.” Toomas and Rita Kütti, who hiked 5 kilometres in the Grand Canyon for their father’s team, Kamp Kütti.

Ehatare’s Grand Parade Fundraiser continues until October 31st.

Our residents were able witness the Estonian community coming together for our walk on September 16th. They were able to see the monetary support from the community exceed our goal, and now see that people who could not join us in person are still supporting them even from afar! This gesture has truly been meaningful to Ehatare and shows that even though the pandemic pulled us apart, it can’t keep us apart!
