The idea originated when band member Allan Langvee heard that Riho Sibul, from Ultima Thule, was experiencing health issues. So, the band Coalescence agreed to work on a tribute project. Three members of the band had played a party/dance set after Ultima’s performance at Eesti Maja years ago, when Ultima Thule came to Toronto. They shared their equipment with the band and got to know the members of Ultima Thule that night. “Ultima put on an amazing performance and it left a lasting impression on us” said Allan Langvee. Allan’s brother, Raoul, who was managing Eesti Maja at the time, organized the sold-out event.

The recording by Coalescence features two Estonian Musicians (Allan Langvee and Heiki Tamm) and was produced by Urmas Soomet, also an Estonian.

Recorded in Ontario, Canada were the members of Coalescence: Allan Langvee (vocals and drums), Scott Keillor(bass and backing vocals), Heiki Tamm (keyboards), Ron Palangio (lead guitar), Murray Johnson (guitar and associate producer). “Fly Myself Free” was recorded, mixed and mastered by Urmas Soomet at Studio 13 Live Sound Recording in Ontario, Canada.

Unfortunately, the singer and songwriter Riho Sibul passed away in November 2022, so he never heard the finished product, but the band dedicates this version to his memory and to his surviving bandmates—may their great music live on!
