Gallery: Eco Festival in Põlva county

Since summer is approaching fast and it's time to make some summer plans, I thought it would be very timely to share some galleries of...

Yes! You guessed it — Estonia.

Now, June and July are busy, activity-filled months, but the country also offers lots of interesting things to see and do in August.

I consider Eco Festival (Ökofestival) one of the best events I have experienced in Estonia, one that I've not only visited but taken photos of. It's such a warm, positive, welcoming, and relaxing place in a very picturesque area. The festival has quite a long tradition: this year it will take place for the 18th time. It's a great way to get to know local organic farmers, craftsmen, and others, not to mention their healthy and wonderful products that are on sale.

Traditionally, it's held on the second to last weekend in August, and it's one of the best events in Põlva County. Organic food lovers who appreciate feeling good and being in nature will appreciate the event most of all.

Though the gallery below is more than 10 years old, it still allows you to “visit” the wonderful Eco Festival in Põlva County. Traditionally, it's held on the second to last weekend in August, and it's one of the best events in Põlva County. Organic food lovers who appreciate feeling good and being in nature will appreciate the event most of all. That's not to mention photographers, who would have a blast taking photos of all the colourful items on sale, food, and people enjoying themselves. I can't wait to get there this year!

Eco Festival offers an interesting and informative program for all nature lovers and everyone who values green thinking and a green lifestyle. The people who organize the workshops and courses at the festival, as well as the fair traders, are selected among local, eco-friendly producers and caterers. These people offer local, healthy, and seasonal food and goods with organic labels. Eco Festival is organized by the Põlva County Development Centre.
